What's new

It's all about 5 a day

At Dig HQ we are great advocates of a sustainable approach to buying and preparing food and the New Year always brings with it a review of how does this principle work in practice when we all have busy lives. So as January comes to a close and all the healthy new year resolutions seem to get harder, I have been looking at how to make this simple and effective. So after many hours reading and researching it seems that the answer is quite simple – put all your effort into your five a day and everything else falls into place.

We like the Weather but did the little red fruits?

Since the last posting (when there was plenty of fruit going on) the strawberries have pretty much stopped growing. We had been watering regularly and picking every 2-3 days but then they just stopped! It was all looking so good! As we're new to the growing lark we were not expecting that a bit of harmless sunshine would interfere with the progress of our much cared for fruits--little did we know.

Local Food Craze Hits Manchester and Cheshire

Well we're finally harvesting the strawberries we planted in March and after all the waiting it's really happening. It's a bit crazy at the moment; packing boxes, picking strawberries, delivering boxes, picking strawberries, doing office work, picking strawberries! I'm sure you get the idea from that.
