Local Food Craze Hits Manchester and Cheshire
Well we're finally harvesting the strawberries we planted in March and after all the waiting it's really happening. It's a bit crazy at the moment; packing boxes, picking strawberries, delivering boxes, picking strawberries, doing office work, picking strawberries! I'm sure you get the idea from that.
We have 3 varieties of berry for your eating pleasure. Honeoye, the early, Hapil, the mid and Symphony, the late. It was a great idea to have three different varieties which would come on at different times. However, that's not really how it's happening. The honeoye came on and then a week later (should've been a month!) the rest start coming ripe. So we're with them every day and making sure no red berry gets left behind. Lovely to be in the walled garden and definitely enjoying the sunshine. We hope you enjoy the fruits!
